Tom Block is a film & music producer, director and composer born in Bensberg (Germany) on the 2nd of November 1991. He grew up on the Canary Island La Palma (Spain) before moving to London (UK) at the age of 18 to study for a BMus in 'Music Performance & Production' at the London Centre of Contemporary Music. During this period he formed the small online label El Mestizo Records which served as a platform to release his first two EPs (Both 2011), his full-length debut album entitled 'Initiation' (2012) and a remix by Richie Stevens aka Dubversive (also 2012), member of the legendary Spacemonkeyz, the remix collective behind the Gorillaz album 'Laika Come Home'.
After graduating in 2013, Tom completed an MA degree in 'Cultural Industries' at Goldsmiths College, University of London and co-founded the film production company Block & Revell in collaboration with British actress & producer Laura Revell. Together they directed and produced a pilot episode entitled 'Charlotte: Like Father, Like Daughter' and the feature film 'Mosquito', which is currently in post-production and scheduled for festival submission in 2015. Tom is currently also freelancing in more minor production roles within the television industry. Recent broadcast credits include the BBC production 'Great Poets in Their Own Words'.
